Teaching a child a language is a much more complex system then most people think. Teaching your child a language can be a daunting and exhausting experience at times. It can be overwhelming for parents and caregivers to be confident in what they are teaching their children when they are not sure what to be looking for. On the other hand, for children who are in a school setting, parents and caregivers can get confused with education jargon, and can get intimidated by school settings.
This site is guided to give you information regarding language regarding young children. There are several levels of language, and how a child develops their language.I want to provide information in easy to understand language, to help bridge the gap between school and home. Language as a whole can be broken up into several categories.
Two main topics on how language is learned, understood and processed are the Acts of Language and the Aspects of language. In these sections I will be explain what these terms mean, and hopefully answer some questions that you may have pertaining the terms. I will also touch on the topic of dual language learners, or children who are learning two languages at the same time. We will also look at how culture and diversity affect how a child learns a language, and the benefits of immersing children in multiple languages if possible. We will continue to to explore needs that children might have when learning a language, and the difficulties that children may have when learning a new language. We will finish off our language exploration with the Frameworks of Literacy such as early reading and writing skills.
I hope this information helps you, and If you have any questions please send me a comment or email! Thank you and enjoy!!
